CHALLENGE (YEC)
INTRODUCTION
WHAT IS YEC?
The Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge (YEC) @FIMiEx 2025 is a flagship innovation and entrepreneurship competition organized by the Faculty of Industrial Management (FIM), Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA). It is part of the larger FIM Innovation and Exhibition (FIMiEx) series aimed at nurturing creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurial skills among youth and professionals.
Purpose of YEC
YEC provides a platform for students, young entrepreneurs, and professionals to present innovative business ideas through the Business Model Canvas (BMC) OR Lean Model Canvas (LMC) framework. The goal is to inspire participants to think critically, innovate sustainably, and transform ideas into impactful ventures that contribute to the economy and society.
About the International YEC (Online Edition)
The International Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge (YEC) @FIMiEx 2025 Online Edition is designed to bring together young innovators, students, educators, and professionals from around the world to share and showcase entrepreneurial ideas that create positive impact through innovation, sustainability, and creativity. This online edition provides a virtual platform for global participants to present their ideas from anywhere in the world without needing to travel.

REQUIREMENT
Business Idea Summary (Short Description)
Participants are required to prepare a summary of their business idea containing the following information. This summary must be prepared in advance and submitted together with the registration form:
🌱Business Name: Your proposed business name.
🌱Problem Statement: What problem are you trying to solve?
🌱Solution: How does your business solve the problem?
🌱Target Market: Who is your target market?
🌱Competitive Advantage: What makes your business different from competitors?
🌱Market Potential: How large is your potential market?
🌱Business Model: How will your business generate revenue?
Additional Guidelines for the Business Idea Summary:
✏️The summary should not exceed 500 words.
✏️Use clear, concise, and easy-to-understand language.
✏️Focus on the most important and compelling aspects of your business idea.

PRESENTATION
Physical Presentation
✨Participants will present their business ideas in front of a panel of judges.
✨The presentation will last 5 minutes, followed by a 5-minute Q&A session.
✨Participants may use their BMC poster as a visual aid.
✨The presentation should be clear, engaging, and convincing.
Video Presentation ( for International participants ONLY)
🌱Participants are required to submit their business idea presentation video one week before the competition date.
🌱The video must not exceed 5 minutes in length.
🌱Participants may use their BMC poster as a visual aid in the video.
🌱The audio and video quality must be clear and professional.
🌱Videos should be uploaded to platforms such as YouTube (unlisted) or Google Drive (MP4 format), and the link must be shared with the organizers.

SCORING CRITERIA
Participants will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
🚀Understanding of BMC (25%): The extent to which participants understand and apply the Business Model Canvas concepts.
🚀Innovation (25%): The level of innovation and creativity in the business idea.
🚀Market Potential (25%): The potential of the business idea to succeed in the market.
🚀Presentation Quality (25%): The clarity, engagement, and persuasiveness of the presentation.
